Hi there!

Happy New Year! We rang in the New Year 2019 and I’m so grateful for what this year will bring and all that happened in 2018 for me... it was truly a monumental year and I never say that. There’s more details as to why that was on my saved story on my Instagram profile!

Above is the look I wore to a fun New Years party in Los Angeles (my new home)! It’s still so strange to say that he he. But even if we are no longer in the holidays we can still sparkle for a night out, so I wanted to feature this look now available at Topshop. The top is Topshop (psst the petite one is on sale)! And the pants are Nordstrom (Blank NYC jeans but I don’t think this specific pair is still available). My booties are H&M and the little marching clutch is Tory Burch (but the clutch isn’t very recent unfortunately).

Have a fabulous night out! You don’t need the holidays to step out and have some fun. I love making future plans by buying tickets ahead of time and knowing I have that night out to look forward to. I have musical and concert tickets coming up that I’m so excited to go to!

Hi there!

I hope you had a fantastic Christmas if you celebrate it! I loved being back on the East Coast visiting family in Connecticut and friends in NYC. I’m now back on the West Coast and in that lull between Christmas and New Years when you don’t know what day it is! But one thing is for sure: you can still sparkle.

I wore this look in CT for Church and it’s so much fun to throw on some metallics at this time of year, but not just on this time of year. I’m wearing an oldie but goodie Zara pleated metallic skirt (they are still avail not just in Zara but I’ve seen versions at H&M, JCrew Banana Republic and more) with a Zara Chanel-esque tweed metallic moto jacket and JCrew ruffle sleeveless white blouse. My brown riding boots are Cole Haan and my pink velvet chain strap bow purse was a recent score from the Saks 5th Ave outlet! It’s by Rebecca Minkoff

Shine on, guys!

Hi there!

For this week’s post I wanted to shout out For Love & Lemons for another perfect party dress that I’m so happy to be wearing for an occasion: my NYC farewell party as I leave soon to move to Los Angeles (but I’ll be back and forth)! This party dress called the Guilded Star Mini Dress was just on sale! I love that I can style it by day with nude wedges and my LV Speedy like I did in photos above, and for night I swapped out wedges for a black star boot from Free People and my YSL black medium Kate evening bag!

Who says sparkle can’t be worn by day? Fashion rules are made to be broken!

Hi there!

Well it's definitely summer weather now in NYC! But what do you feel light and airy in, dressed up, and comfortable? A t-shirt shift dress from Madewell with sparkle and a 60s mod feel!

This dress is so light and airy: perfect for going out on a warm evening. It's so fun and easy to wear, and I styled with an ankle strap ballet flat with sparkle from Zara and my Valentino rock stud bag. I went really matchy matchy on this one but I wanted to shine on a special occasion evening.

Hope you're out enjoying the weather! Stay tuned soon as I'll be posting some great summer looks I wore recently throughout Europe on vacation.

Hi there!

Merry Christmas Eve and Happy first day of Chanukah everyone! In the spirit of the Holiday season I wanted to share my favorite holiday color combination: Gold and Black.

In the look above I styled my favorite Lauren by Ralph Lauren black blazer with gold RL crest over a Zara black turtleneck tucked into a Topshop gold sequin mini skirt. I finished the look with black tights and vintage black suede pumps, and my favorite gold python clutch from Coach. I also added a couple statement necklaces for some added sparkle!

Make sure you sparkle over this holiday season and ring in the New Year in style. I love an excuse to sparkle and shine and be festive. If you've been following along on my social media I've been snapping and Instagram story sharing some fun holiday moments and looks too.

New Years Eve: A Feminine Twist on Menswear

Carolina Santos Read

Sleeveless tuxedo top by JCrew, boyfriend fit dress pants by H&M, studded boots by Aldo.  Photography by Francisco Graciano.

Hi there!

“Is it NYE already? What will I wear?!” Don’t worry I have you covered! Every New Years Eve I typically pull out something shiny or sparkly out of my closet, and usually it's in dress form.  This year I thought I’d experiment with a feminine version of menswear.  In the photo above, shot by Francisco Graciano in the Upper East Side’s gorgeous Palace Hotel, you can see I styled my boyfriend fit dress pant from H&M with my sleeveless tuxedo blazer top from JCrew.  I love the sexiness the open shoulders and deep V add to the look, which I think is accentuated nicely with a bralette underneath.  For a little sparkle change the black bralette to a sparkly number.

I also paired the look with my favorite rock and roll studded ankle booties from Aldo.  However, for a more polished sleek look swap out booties for a stiletto (perhaps with a little sparkle) and you’re ready for a night on the town! Or a night in.  Those can be so much less stressful on New Years!

Here are some of the outfit details, lipstick by Laura Mercier, earrings are vintage.  Photography by Francisco Graciano.

In these last two photographs you can see the outfit details with the bralette and tuxedo top as well as my makeup, jewelry and hair choices.  I opted to go with a gold earring to match the hardware in my booties, a pulled back slicked low ponytail for a Spanish dramatic edge (my upbringing in Madrid shows up a lot in my clothing choices), and a fiery red lip to add even more drama. My lipstick is by Laura Mercier and my jewelry is vintage.

Whatever you decide to do this New Years, be safe and drink responsibly but above all have fun and ring in the New Year in style! Happy New Year 2016 everyone!
