Hi there!

I hope everyone is surviving the long month of January. I have been traveling for work and can’t wait to get back to LA for a brief time before being back on the road!

This look is so much fun to wear to be comfy and cozy in velvet but still dressed up! The dress/tunic is Free People with a Zara turtleneck and leggings below, my Gucci belt and Rebecca Minkoff velvet pink purse which was a recent find at the Saks Outlet! I also added my blue Nine West oldie but goodie (last year for Christmas I got them) velvet boots. I love playing with layers and texture to keep warm when I’m not in LA.

Stay warm and cozy:)

Hi there!

I’ve been loving playing with styles (as usual) and having some fun while running around Los Angeles, and this current Free People gypsy wrap skirt is one of my favorites right now! I paired it with my Givenchy-esque combat boots and my Ralph Lauren military jacket. I like to call it Sarge & Pepper meets pirate;)

Never fear making fun mix & match decisions with fashion! Happy New Year 🎊

Hi there!

Happy New Year! We rang in the New Year 2019 and I’m so grateful for what this year will bring and all that happened in 2018 for me... it was truly a monumental year and I never say that. There’s more details as to why that was on my saved story on my Instagram profile!

Above is the look I wore to a fun New Years party in Los Angeles (my new home)! It’s still so strange to say that he he. But even if we are no longer in the holidays we can still sparkle for a night out, so I wanted to feature this look now available at Topshop. The top is Topshop (psst the petite one is on sale)! And the pants are Nordstrom (Blank NYC jeans but I don’t think this specific pair is still available). My booties are H&M and the little marching clutch is Tory Burch (but the clutch isn’t very recent unfortunately).

Have a fabulous night out! You don’t need the holidays to step out and have some fun. I love making future plans by buying tickets ahead of time and knowing I have that night out to look forward to. I have musical and concert tickets coming up that I’m so excited to go to!

Hi there!

I hope you had a fantastic Christmas if you celebrate it! I loved being back on the East Coast visiting family in Connecticut and friends in NYC. I’m now back on the West Coast and in that lull between Christmas and New Years when you don’t know what day it is! But one thing is for sure: you can still sparkle.

I wore this look in CT for Church and it’s so much fun to throw on some metallics at this time of year, but not just on this time of year. I’m wearing an oldie but goodie Zara pleated metallic skirt (they are still avail not just in Zara but I’ve seen versions at H&M, JCrew Banana Republic and more) with a Zara Chanel-esque tweed metallic moto jacket and JCrew ruffle sleeveless white blouse. My brown riding boots are Cole Haan and my pink velvet chain strap bow purse was a recent score from the Saks 5th Ave outlet! It’s by Rebecca Minkoff

Shine on, guys!

Tartan & Velvet Christmas

Hi guys!

Merry (almost) Christmas! How do you like to prepare for the holidays? No matter what you celebrate, I always love how this time of year brings togetherness amongst loved ones and a joy and spirit of giving.

In terms of wardrobe I always have in mind Nobel fabrics like velvet and leather (in my case vegan leather) and prints that feel Christmassy like tartan plaid! My look here getting ready for the holiday is vegan leather moto pants by H&M, tartan oxford shirt by JCrew, a vintage black velvet blazer, and Aldo riding boots! Finally, since fashion to me is always fun and never too fussy I just did simple makeup and a festive red lip, plenty of highlighter for a warm glow, and messy natural hair with some texturing cream for that French not-trying-too-hard feel. My dark red nails add an edge to the traditional red holiday nail look too.

I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday season! Next week I’ll be talking about a couple fun New Years look ideas, so stay tuned for that!

Vintage Eyelet for fall

Hi there!

I am still hooked on the eyelet thing, and I find eyelet tops for fall very vintage inspired and boho as well as slightly preppy. I love this one I found on Etsy that has a turtleneck and a frilly cuffed sleeve and ties in the back. It’s a little folky as well! To modernize the look I styled it with a great skinny jean and an oldie but goodie over the knee riding boot and my little Ferragamo bag.

I’ve also really been loving the bow scrunchie trend lately and since eyelet and lace are girly and vintage I also wore my Free People floral bow scrunchie in my hair to keep the look soft and girly:)  there’s so many ways to style this trend though, I’d even edge it up with a moto jacket or keep it comfy in a grandma oversized sweater or cardigan!

Hi there!

Have you noticed eyelet and lace are having a major moment? I love this vintage girly look and in my photos above I showed how you can wear it on the beach or a night out! I would style the long sleeve top and skirt (both from my summer Hamptons obsession store: Loveshack Fancy) with an ankle bootie and leather jacket for fall, and just the way I did at the beach in Miami recently for warmer weather. The tank in those photos are from a small boutique in NYC!  White and brown are a fave neutral color palette of mine for fall, and I just got an eyelet long sleeve top with collar that I’m going to wear under my brown fringe suede jacket with jeans and brown suede booties!

Since my last post I’ve been busy settling into my new home in LA. I’m no longer based in NYC and am now in LA! It’s so crazy and definitely an adjustment but I am loving it so far. Thanks for bearing with me as I’ve been MIA getting settled and traveling for work. If you have any suggestions on what to see me in maybe a trend you’d like me to style please don’t hesitate to comment it on my IG or below on my blog here!

Hi there!

I recently completed a cross country road trip in my Volkswagen Beetle convertible coast edition with my big brother, and he was incredible! We traveled from the Connecticut shoreline to Los Angeles in 9 days making some really fun stops along the way.

This look was worn at the Grand Canyon, a two piece by Tobi called the “ Just Right Wide Leg Pants” and “Just Right Lace Up Top.” The set is on sale now too! The two piece trend is so fun, effortless and chic and can be dressed up or down too! I love how summery but transitional this set is, for a chillier end of summer or early fall day. I’m also really into the stripes trend currently. Vertical stripes have a great slimming effect and are very chic as well. I wore this set visiting the Grand Canyon on our road trip and I plan on wearing it in Miami for my work and play trip starting this weekend! I’ll post a pic of that below once I do ☺️

Hi there!

For this week’s post I wanted to shout out For Love & Lemons for another perfect party dress that I’m so happy to be wearing for an occasion: my NYC farewell party as I leave soon to move to Los Angeles (but I’ll be back and forth)! This party dress called the Guilded Star Mini Dress was just on sale! I love that I can style it by day with nude wedges and my LV Speedy like I did in photos above, and for night I swapped out wedges for a black star boot from Free People and my YSL black medium Kate evening bag!

Who says sparkle can’t be worn by day? Fashion rules are made to be broken!

Summer Skincare Faves

Hi there!

I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer and to me it’s not over yet! These are some of my current skincare obsessions thanks to the Goop store in Sag Harbor, NY. I just got back from the Hamptons and that pop up store gave me a chance to get some truly wonderful products!

First off is my never fails fave: Moroccan oil Argan oil for hair. I love putting this into beach hair to add moisture and contain frizz. My hair is so healthy and happy from using the Moroccan Oil shampoo conditioner and styling cream too!

Now for my Goop finds: French Girl rose lip scrub is great for getting rid of dead skin on your lips and leaving them plump and smooth. Finish it off with rose balm for an extra hidrated pout!  It smells so good too:)

I love the way the Tata Harper lip and cheek balm feel, and her products are all natural and organic! In the sun this balm and sunscreen are all you need and I love the colors it comes in.

Finally this lapis face oil/serum by Herbivore is to die for if you have combination skin like me. It leaves skin hydrated and balanced and not excessively oily.

Let’s carry out that summer glow into fall with healthy skin and hair!

Hi there!

I hope everyone is enjoying a little vitamin sea this summer! I’m on a show contract in the Hamptons and trying to make time for the beach whenever possible. My current obsession is beach throws like the Lilly turquoise kaftan (recently blogged about: a score at Marshall’s), and my tan one with Pom poms that I was gifted from a friend. These beach throws are everywhere and so effortless for the beach and running errands.

I’m also loving a beach hat like the two pictured above! The “resting beachface” one is from Bohemian Groove on the Move (I love her store check her stuff out)! The white one that says “beach time” was from a boutique here in the Hamptons. They protect your face from UV rays and are perfectly beach chic!

Hi there!

I recently opened the musical Evita at the Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor, NY and am enjoying a summer in the Hamptons! Right now polka dots are a big thing for the summer, and this gorgeous Topshop “On the Spot Maxi” dress was perfect to wear to our opening! A modern take on the classic Flamenco dress (and my upbringing in Spain), it was a fun version of the polka dot trend to wear but my way. I love the frill detail and the red tassel earrings I paired it with were a steal at TJ Maxx.

There are so many fun ways to wear polka dots in the summer, I’ll include another dress below I’ve been wearing nonstop! The dress is from a little boutique in Manhattan on the UES called “Thais” and the bag I just bought in Montauk at a little boutique! Unfortunately it was the last one left.

Summer in Lilly

Hi there!

I’ve been spending as much of my summer away from the city as possible (I’m a mermaid at heart) and summer in Lilly, especially on the CT shoreline or the Hamptons, is always a bright preppy and fun way to go. Here I am on the CT Shoreline in my Lilly Pulitzer tassel top, which was way less because I found it at Marshall’s just like the blue gorgeous kaftan I blogged about a few weeks ago! I am so happy Lilly is carried there now, and I don’t have to spend as much as I usually do in their stores for my summer pop of color fix.

I styled it with an oldie but goodie pair of white lacy shorts, my Havaianas flip flops, and Gucci shades for a beach or pool day. It is such a fun look for Summer to wear color and tassels, whether for the beach or daytime or into night (tassel earrings are my fave right now)!

Hi there!

Have you been seeing the bodysuit trend and wondered how to style it? There are so many ways and it’s such a fun and easy look for Summer! I styled my Zara orange with fuscia polka dots bodysuit with a cutoff short and flip flops at the beach or nude wedges to walk around casually and my straw bag. It can also be dressed up with a high waisted pant and heels! To accentuate the fuscia polka dots I wore a fuscia earring and my hair up to keep it casual and fresh. In the above looks I was at Rockaway beach in NYC and the bottom look I was in Miami recently!

Have fun with this trend because I just love it!

Seeing Stars & Ruffles

Hi there!

I hope everyone is having a great holiday long weekend or at least a day off:). I celebrated at the beach today (see my stories) and took a lot of time off in June to be with my family in Connecticut.

This is one of my favorite looks right now: the tie back on this gorgeous Celestial collection from Spell Designs (this is the Celestial Mini Dress) is my favorite along with the pleated skirt and ruffle collar. I paired it with my fave Free People star ankle boots and an oldie but goodie Chanel. I’ll be wearing this look into fall because the star pattern and color are so much fun, and I can wear it with a blazer or moto jacket when it gets colder.

Spell Designs’ boho looks always get it right for me, which makes them one of my all time fave brands. Also I’ve only had one issue with making an exchange because of sizing and their customer service team couldn’t be more accommodating and a dream to work with.  Even though they are an Aussie brand they have a US online store and are carried at many boutiques as well.

Hi there!

Wondering what to wear for the 4th of July? Americana is a look that never goes out of style, but for the 4th of July you know you want to look red-white-and-blue-chic! This Zara off the shoulder belted white and blue striped dress is right on trend. It’s preppy and figure-flattering and I styled it with a coral red cardigan (available now at the JCrew outlet) and coral red sandals, as well as a fun and festive tassel earring (we are seeing these everywhere and I love them and have them in different colors too).

A fun wedge or heel dresses up the look even more, and maybe a straw bag added would accentuate that Summer picnic or BBQ party!

Enjoy summer everyone :)

Hi there!

I’ve been back from Miami a couple weeks but had so much fun photographing new looks there like this gorgeous Lilly Pulitzer turquoise kaftan, which was way less because I found it at Marshall’s!!! I am so happy Lilly is carried there now, and this was one of two beautiful new pieces I bought.

I styled it with the same straw bag from the last couple posts (also a steal from the Moroccan Imports store in Chelsea Market in NYC) and Havaianas flip flops and Gucci shades for a beach day. It is such a fun look with the gold embroidery and really comfortable cotton as well. Snag yourself one before they are gone!

Hi there!

The nice weather has finally come to the East Coast! I might have taken these photos in Miami recently, but I will surely be wearing this look on MDW.

These cute little high-waisted cherry shorts by Aqua (purchased at Bloomingdales) are so much fun with my oldie but goodie Free People off the shoulder eyelet top, and Chanel red patent leather flats as well as my favorite straw bag with Pom Pom I got from the Moroccan imports store in Chelsea Market in NYC.  I finished out the look with my brand new Gucci shades!

I always like to wear looks that have a hint of Americana (be on the lookout for next week’s blue and white striped dress that is also perfect for Summertime, is right on trend, and also has the Americana vibe) for this festive weekend. This cherry look is white and red and I didn’t wear blue but you can always go full Americana and preppy for this holidays weekend!

Hi there!

I’m back in Miami for work and loving the weather as always. We shot some photos in my current obsession dress: Spell Designs’ “City Lights Maxi.” I love that it’s bohemian, floral, has ruffles and tassels (see the back of the dress photo above), and super comfortable. It also transitions from day into night beautifully depending on the styling (throw on a wedge a night bag and some accessories to dress it up or wear it to the beach with flip flops and no makeup: it works so well either way). I’m also loving this handmade straw bag from one of my favorite stores in Chelsea Market NYC: the Moroccan imports store. The owner is lovely and his imports are beautiful and affordable!

Tassels, ruffles, florals, color, boho, straw bags and more are all in this season and I’m loving all those trends!

Hi there!

Have you ever gotten razor burn or dark spots from ingrown hairs or shadows from hair that is still there after shaving? The Elastic Wax Center owned by Cristina (a fellow Brazilian and incredible entrepreneur) in Astoria Queens (and growing) is a healthy and green option for waxing. Not only is it chemical free but it heals the skin from bacteria, fungus, and dark shadows or other blemish imperfections. My favorite part is that it is natural, organic, and doesn’t harm the environment. I absolutely loved being treated here.

My skin didn’t just feel smooth post wax, but it didn’t have blemishes, shadows, or razor burn. I will never go back to regular waxing again!

Visit the center at any of their locations in Astoria and stay tuned as they grow to Manhattan and LA. Say Carolina sent you for a 50% off discount!

With love,

Carolina
